My name is Shane. I am a 5th-degree black belt and have been teaching Tae kwon-do in Cullompton since 2001, and in Silverton since 2013.
We are family run club and my wife Manda will do a lot of the admin side of what we do.
We are part of the T.A.G.B (Tae kwon-do association of Great Britain) As the largest martial arts organisation in the world the TAGB has over 25,000 accredited members, 600 schools, and organises seminars with World Masters, demonstrations, and national, regional and international championships every month of the year.
The Silverton Tigers Club was set up in 2013 and has been a great success.
The TAGB Tigers was created as teaching children can be different to teaching adults, we have two classes in Silverton, 5:30-6pm is for 4 to 8-year-olds and 6-7pm for 8 and above, these classes are fun introductions to Tae Kwon-do and will enable them to learn Tae Kwon Do in a fun and positive manner while still following the normal syllabus but at a slightly slower pace.
We aim to put the fun back into physical fitness through a young children’s martial art, teaching amongst other skills; coordination, flexibility, good balance and social skills.
As we live in a small village most of our students know each other already or enjoy making new friends at the class.
They don’t need any specialist equipment to start with, just come along for a couple of free introductory classes and see if they enjoy it.
